Making A Difference in Rochester's Neighborhoods

From Charlotte to Genesee Valley Park, Edgerton to Browncroft, Mayor Duffy has supported Rochester's neighborhoods and its center city with major revitalization and new development projects.

He understands that having safe and healthy neighborhoods surrounding a vibrant city core will encourage people to live, work and play here.

City Hall on the Road Ongoing         Customer service initiative brings Mayor Duffy and his senior staff into neighborhoods throughout the city to answer questions and hear citizens’ thoughts and ideas.

206-208 Mills Street Underway Spring-08 Plain Site Collateral LLC $1,500, 000 $530,000 (CDF) Six new units of market rate rental housing  will be available in the High Falls district of Center City
Academy Building 13 S. Fitzhugh Street Planned Spring-09 Fitzhugh Associates LLC $8,131,245 $800,000 (Restore NY) 24 units of market-rate rental units and 12,000 sq. ft. of commercial space to be created in the Center City. (Rehabilitation)
Cox Building 36-38 St Paul Street Underway Spring-09 Maximus Cox LLC $5,816,000 $1,000,000 (Restore NY) 70 new market-rate work/live work lofts and 15,000 sq, ft. will be created (Rehabilitation)
Parry Building 222-230 Mill Street Underway Summer-08 Parry Building LLC $2,488,000 $300,000 (Restore NY) 6-8 units of new loft rental housing units and 11,472 sq. ft. of commercial space will be renovated in the High Falls area.
Warner Building 72-82 St. Paul Street Underway Spring-09 HH Warner Associates $8,900,000 $2,000,000 (Restore NY) 45 new, market-rate, loft apartments and 11,000 sq. ft. of commercial space will be created.
Carestream Health Inc./established their worldwide headquarters in Rochester           Employs 1,400 workers locally
Sullivan Violins Inventory, FF&E and Moving Expenses         $30,000 (CDBG) The company relocated from Pittsford. Will create 1 FTE
J & K Cafe Expansion of Cafe/Restaurant         $30,000 (CDBG) This is an expansion of a cafe/restaurant located in the Alliance Building. Will create 2 FTE's
PAETEC Underway         Building a new 500,000 square foot, Class-A facility on a portion of the Midtown property. The proposed PAETEC facility is anticipated to house more than 1,000 employees.
ESL         $940,000 ESL, one of the largest and most successful credit unions in the country, will bring nearly 250 construction jobs, more than 300 employees by the year 2010 and between $50–$60 million investment within the city with its new corporate headquarters.
