Mayor Duffy in Your Neighborhood - Southwest Quadrant

Southwest Rochester, generally from West Main St. on the north to Genesee Valley Park on the south and from the City line to the Genesee River/Inner Loop, encompasses historic Corn Hill, many strong neighborhoods and much of the University of Rochester campus community.

Olean/Kennedy I&II Completed 7-Mar Providence $30,738,000 $3,223,119 (HOME, CIP, CDBG) 144 units of  attractive affordable housing and a new community center were developed by Providence Housing that transformed the South Plymouth Avenue at Ford Street
Olean III Underway Fall-09 Providence $8,100,000 Sale of land 31 new, affordable housing units are being developed on scattered sites throughout the SW.
Riverview Underway Fall-08 Riverview Equity $25,000,000 $440,300 (CIP) 96 new student housing units are being constructed.
W. Main St. Improvements Completed .. .. $1.2 million dollar investment which completed a series of historic plaques and gateway columns, landscaped a vacant building site for us as a neighborhood greenspace    Upgraded street and pedestrian lighting, replaced sidewalks and crosswalks with enhanced pavements, expanded recessed parking for businesses.
Troup St. Park Gardner St Recreation Center Completed .. .. $720,000 investment for replacement and/or improvement of basketball courts, path/sidewalk, play structures, ballfields, etc.   Enhanced neighborhood parks and greenspaces to reflect the needs and desires of neighborhood.
Infrastructure Preservation: Cobbs and Rush Reservoirs Corrosion protection of transmission mains; new roofs @ Cobbs and Rush Reservoirs 2007 .. ..    Less interruption of water service for the community at large.
Mt. Hope Avenue Completed .. .. $580,000 ($200,000 used from USEPA)   Environmental clean up of City owned properties
